Detained Australian Writer Charged with Spying by China Says he's Innocent
The Australian writer - Yang Hengjun - that's been detained by Chinese authorities for 18 months and charged with espionage says he won't make a false confession.
His lawyers were given access to him on Thursday for the first time since he was arrested in January last year.

India records biggest single day spike in COVID19 cases globally
More than 83,000 people tested positive in India in a single day, data released on Thursday shows.
This is the biggest single-day jump recorded by any country since the pandemic started in early 2020.
