The world's biggest shopping event boosts Chinese economic woes

The biggest shopping event in the world has broken another record.

China's e-commerce giant Alibaba says its Singles Day sales reached almost 85 billion US dollars on Thursday. But the rate of annual sales growth is stalling, amid China's wider economic slowdown.
