No other details of the meeting between President Putin and President Erdogan have been made public yet but the Turkish Presidency has confirmed that he will be in Sochi next week.
Russia claims the two Presidents are in continuous contact with each other and will discuss the work of the Syrian Constitutional committee during their meeting next week.
Russia says it's willing to negotiate between Damasucs and Ankara to end Turkey's military offensive in North East Syria. It has also hdeployed patrols along the Turkey-Syria contact line to prevent clashes between the troops of both nations.
Experts say with America's withdrawal from the region, Russia has become the most important player in the Middle East and is the only country that can talk to all the sides engaged in this conflict - a huge diplomatic win for the Russian President.
