US Companies Banned from Selling Components to Chinese Smartphone Maker ZTE


The US has banned American companies from selling components to the leading Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE. 

That's a significant blow to ZTE. 

American companies provide an estimated 25 to 30 percent of the components use in ZTE's equipment, which includes networking gear and smartphones.
