Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bhartiya Janata Party has lost to the country's main opposition party- the Congress in three crucial state elections held over the last several weeks.
These elections- that saw five states go to polls- have been widely dubbed as the 'semifinal' ahead of national elections early next year.
